On Friday, I went to the Emergency Room with my Husband because my stomach was killing me and I had felt sick. Really sick. When I got there, they had took my urine and blood for lab work when I looked outside of the curtain and saw my mothers aunt on a stretcher. She is about 60 years old. She had a neck brace on and had her eyes closed. Shocked, I said to my husband, “That was Merle on that stretcher!” He rushed out of our room and went to her to see what happened. Apparently she had been walking her dog who might I add weighs more than she does and she got slammed into her blazer by the dogs force. A few minutes later my mother and her uncle showed up. My mom peeked her head into the curtain. She already knew that we were there. She went back to her aunts room while the doctor FINALLY came into my room to see me after two hours of sitting. He felt my stomach and he said that they were going to run some tests with the samples they took. While waiting, my mother came to check on me and We found out that Merle broke her hip and her wrist and injured her wrist. With all the bad news, I just really wanted to get out of that Hospital. The doctor came back in about two hours later. He quietly and slowly said “Okay, here’s the deal. You’re pregnant….” After those few words, I didn’t hear anything else; it was like every sound was muted. I looked at my husband and his eyes were watery. I immediately started smiling and then I came back to my senses and listened to everything he said about the stomach pain being normal and what I needed to do about it. The rest of the night I didn’t even think about any pain that I had. I was in complete bliss. I feel so blessed to be having a baby. I can’t wait to see it on the ultrasound and to hear its heard beat and to find out the gender and to watch it grow with my help. I could not be happier.
